Where will the wedding and reception be held?
Our Wedding and Reception will be held at the Chicago Cultural Center at 78 E. Washington Street, Chicago, IL 60602. The Cultural Center main entrance is on Washington Street and the building faces Michigan Avenue near Milennium Park.
What is the dress code for the wedding?
"Black tie preferred" is our Wedding attire. For men, a tuxedo or a dark suit, tie and dark shoes are appropriate. For women, a full-length dress is preferred or a fancy cocktail dress.
What time does the wedding start?
The building will be open for guests to arrive early. Our Wedding ceremony will start promptly at 5:30pm on Sunday, August 31. Please allow time for traffic and parking. It will take most people 15 minutes to walk from nearby hotels or parking garages.
What is the wedding day itinerary?
Arrivals at the Chicago Cultural Center start at 5:00pm. Our Wedding ceremony will start at 5:30pm. A Cocktail Hour will follow from 6:00pm-7:00pm. The Dinner and Reception will begin at 7:00pm and end at midnight. All events will be held indoors and will be at the Chicago Cultural Center.
When will formal invitations be sent?
We expect to send formal invitations in the coming months.
Can I bring a "plus one"?
If your Wedding invitation indicates your name and a guest, then you can bring a plus one. Otherwise, the invitation is for you only.
Are children invited?
We have decided to keep our Wedding and Reception an adults-only event. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
How can I RSVP?
We will ask guests to RSVP through this website. This information will be provided with your invitation. You can also provide your meal preferences and share any dietary restrictions.
What is the best way to arrive at the Chicago Cultural Center?
If you live or are staying in Chicago, we highly recommend taking a taxi, Uber, Lyft or public transportation. The drop off and pick up location is 78 E. Washington Street. Our host hotels for guests are close to the venue, so we recommend parking at your hotel. All host hotels are a 15 minute walk or 5 minute car ride.
What parking is available near the Chicago Cultural Center?
For those driving and parking near the venue, the closest parking garage is 20 East Randolph Street, a 3 minute walk. You can book on Spot Hero at a discounted rate. Other nearby parking garages are located at Grant Park North Garage (25 North Michigan Avenue), Grant Park South Garage (325 South Michigan Avenue) and Millennium Park Garage & Millennium Lakeside Garage (5 South Columbus Drive). These are underground garages off Michigan Avenue.
Will there be host hotels nearby?
We have blocked hotel rooms at nearby hotels for our guests. They are all a 15 minute walk or 4-5 minute drive to the Chicago Cultural Center. Whether you would like to stay the night of the wedding on Sunday, August 31, a few days, or the holiday weekend, we have options for you.
Each hotel has a guest room block from Thursday, August 29 to Monday, September 1. You can book rooms with the special rates anytime during these dates. These blocks are available until July 31. See the "Accommodations" section of this website for information on the hotels and links to book rooms. You are obviously welcome to stay wherever you would like.
Will there be a place to bring gifts?
Your presence at our Wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can order it from our registry, and it will be sent to our home. See the "Registry" section of this website for more information. We will have a Wedding card box.
Is the venue accessible?
Yes, there are ramps and elevators available to all guests.
